With his long history in lending combined with experience as a Senior Bank Examiner for the Arkansas State Bank Department, Trey Clark is a banking industry leader as well as a top-notch lender. Trey grew up on a farm and learned the value of hard work early in life – a value he brings to his loan customers daily. He strives to give them an exceptional customer service experience, and uses his own customer service experiences to help guide him. “A wise banker once told me that if I wanted to be a good lender, I should never forget what it feels like to sit on the other side of the desk”, he said. “I love the great feeling that comes from helping someone get their business started or help them grow an existing business. It’s relationship-based and it’s customer-focused.”
Trey loves the team he works with at FFB because they all live and work in the communities they serve. They’re involved in local churches, schools, and nonprofit organizations and share that involvement with many of their customers. “Every deal and every person is different and I learn something new every day on this job”, he stated. Last year, he was part of the FFB team that helped hundreds of small businesses secure needed funding as the pandemic began and is proud that both customers and non-customers alike came to FFB and trusted them to help during a difficult time for them, personally and financially.
Outside of work, Trey and his wife, Carmen, stay busy keeping up with their four children. From English saddle horse shows to cheerleading to tennis to bull riding – the Clark kids keep their parents on the go. An avid hunter, the kids also accompany him on the many hunting trips he makes each season. “In addition to deer and turkey, I’ve also harvested an Arkansas elk with a rifle and two bears with a bow”, he says with just a hint of pride. Trey is a past Chairman of the El Dorado/Union County Chamber, serves on the board of directors for Hope Landing and on the El Dorado Airport Commission. The three words that Trey says people would use to describe him are trustworthy, competent, and thoughtful.
